There are two positions available for 2020 High School grads in St. Johns County. While training to be a Vet Tech, you will work within our veterinary team. Our clinic is an ASPCA Spay Neuter Alliance clinic, making it the only one of its kind in St. Johns County. Our goal is to ensure that all pets have access to quality veterinary care, regardless of their owners' financial circumstances. As a new High School graduate, you will begin as an assistant and gradually work into becoming a Vet Tech as you gain competency in each of the duties. Each position will afford the candidate the opportunity to define a clear career path for continued growth and learning. The Society Pet Spa of St Augustine is seeking a part-time or full-time groomer to service the most wonderful clients and their fur babies. The ideal groomer must possess a patient, kind and gentle nature as well as expertise that can accommodate all dog breeds. This position is 3-5 days a week with afternoon hours at our brand new facility. The Pet Spa generates revenue for the Humane Society's many programs geared toward preventing the need for owner relinquishment to shelters. We are St. Johns County’s only low-cost, high volume spay/neuter clinic that is certified ASPCA Humane Alliance. Enjoy the benefits of a great support staff, and an opportunity for additional “special op” procedures . Requirements include a minimum of 1 year surgical experience, with emphasis on spay/neuter surgery on cats and dogs. The expectation is to perform approximately 35 - 40 surgeries in a day. We also operate a wellness clinic that serves low-income pet owners.

Position is primarily cleaning, organizing storage areas, facility maintenance, and laundry.
Tasks also include outdoor lawn and parking lot clean up.
Must have a strong work ethic, maintain a professional attitude.
Animal Handling: Interaction with animals includes dog bathing, dog walking, and lifting heavy dogs onto surgical tables. Pet food storage and distrubution also requires ability to lift up to and sometimes more than 75 lbs.
Mon.- Friday 24 to 32 hours per week. schedule to be determined
Salary range: $8.75 to $9.00 per hour
